A: The Main Street Bridge was constructed in the 1960s and has undergone one previous rehabilitation project. It is essential to ensure that the structure remains intact in order to provide a safe and reliable means of transportation for the public. This project will meet these requirements by repairing key elements of the bridge. The overall purpose of this project is to extend the lifespan of the structure and increase safety and effectiveness.

A: All businesses within the vicinity of the bridge and construction zone will remain accessible to the public at all times for the duration of the project.

A: There are two separate phases for the project. Phase one begins in May 2018 and continues up to November 2018. The second phase will occur in the following year starting from April 2019 and ending in August 2019. Specific dates for each task are subject to change (updated construction schedules are posted on this website).

A: Partial and full road closures will occur periodically during both phases of the project depending on the type of work that is being done. These closures will occur after a public notice is posted on this website. The detour route for a full road closure of the bridge is outlined in the “Detour Routes” section.
